Binti builds modern software to help every child have a safe, loving, and stable family. Working with county and state governments across 34 states, Binti's tools improve the child welfare system. The 450+ agencies using Binti serve about 38% of children in child welfare in the US, and agencies using Binti have increased the number of approved families by an average of 30%, making a real dent in the shortage of foster/adoptive parents for children in the US. Beyond helping families foster/adopt children, Binti is launching software to support families who are struggling to get the services they need to stay together with or reunify with their children.

OVERVIEW OF  THE ROLE

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Binti, you will lead a talented and dedicated engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. You will help set ambitious but achievable goals, design team-wide norms and processes to streamline operations, and coach your team to top performance. Ideally, you will bring a wealth of experience in SaaS product development, technical leadership, and a passion for leveraging technology to positively impact society.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, productivity, and high performance.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical roadmap aligning with Binti’s mission and business objectives. 

  • Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-friendly software that addresses the unique challenges of the child welfare space. 

  • Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation within the engineering team, contributing to the long-term success and scalability of Binti’s platform. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, focusing on user experience and system performance.

  • Agile Methodology: Implement and champion agile development methodologies, ensuring the team operates efficiently and adapts to evolving project needs.  

SAMPLE PROJECTS

  • Oversee a brand new, just-launched, product (Family Finding) and collaboratively strategize how to scale its impact.

  • Revamping how documents and requirements are handled throughout the entire product. This is critical to the success of current and future modules.

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT YOU

  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and managing engineering teams to high performance, ideally in a SaaS or tech start-up environment with at least 5-7 years of management experience.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background with experience in full-stack development, cloud computing, and scalable architecture. 

  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to align technical strategies with business priorities and goals, contributing to the overall success and growth of the company.

FLEXIBILITY

We offer flexible scheduling for all team members. Ideal candidates will be open to working a schedule that allows real-time collaboration with the team.

LOCATION

This role is open to fully remote candidates authorized to work within the United States. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, working from our Oakland office is optional but encouraged for face-to-face collaboration.

 

The compensation for this role ranges from $240,000 - $270,000 annual base salary. Binti strives to be in the 90th percentile of the market range for a Series B company. We are also proud to offer a comprehensive perks and benefits package, as outlined below. Compensation within this range will be determined throughout the interview process based on our standardized leveling procedures.
