CTO Solution architect for IOTA spin off at IOTA Foundation

We are looking for the CTO of the new IOTA Foundation spin-off focusing on solutions/services for international trade and supply chain management. We need this person to manage, build, grow and mentor a technical team to match the strategy and product needs currently, incorporation of new venture is being prepared which includes a transfer of staff, assets, and IPR from the IOTA Foundation, formulation of partnerships with core partners for the go-to-market plan, setting an advisory board and development of an investor prospectus for the initial funding of the venture.



Responsibilities 


  • Set the technical direction of the TLIP (Trade Logistics Information Pipeline) - in collaboration with our advisors
  • Build and manage a technical team to match the strategy and product needs
  • Partner with stakeholders to design solutions that deliver the optimal balance of the product vision, cost, time-to-value, and complexity to maintain and support
  • Oversee all aspects of the product development cycle, including product definition, usability testing, UX/UI, backlog management, documentation, release planning, and project schedule management
  • Build, coach, mentor, appraise and grow the Delivery Team, enabling their professional development
  • Appropriately structure the delivery teams in a manner that optimally delivers on the product roadmap, customer support, and customer projects
  • Enable and support a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, team, execution, and continuous improvement


Requirements


  • 8+ years of experience in the software industry
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering management roles experience, specifically concerning software development and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate highly technical concepts in business terms and articulate underlying business value
  • Demonstrated ability to build, grow and manage strong teams and enabling their professional development
  • Demonstrated success leading and managing remote cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing the concurrent delivery of multiple programs across multiple functions and business groups


Skills


  • Must have profound knowledge of software engineering principles and practices; particularly, technical proficiency with:
  • Web3 principles such as self-sovereign identity, verifiable credentials, DID etc. as defined by W3C.
  • Linked Data
  • Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, for instance IOTA
  • REST / Open APIs
  • Databases (NoSQL, SQL, etc.)
  • DevOps and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, …)
  • Strong product instinct: you intuitively understand why product ideas will be effective
  • Must be able to develop and manage technology roadmaps
  • Proactive and possess strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills, able to build relationships and influence outcomes
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and manage available resources accordingly in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a leader who leads through setting an example
  • Must be an enabler and coach to empower and grow a team of software engineers

About the project:


TLIP (Trade Logistics Information Pipeline) is a spinoff venture from the IOTA Foundation focusing on solutions/services for international trade and supply chain management.

Currently, incorporation of TLIP is being prepared which includes a transfer of staff, assets and IPR from the IOTA Foundation, formulation of partnerships with core partners for the go-to-market plan, setting an advisory board and development of an investor prospectus for the initial funding of the venture.

We are currently a team of 9 people including software engineers, UX research and project management.

The TLIP has a number of products and services that focus on upgrading international trade and supply chains. All products are based on the same fundamental technologies and made possible through the Supply Chain 3.0 Node.

We have a number of different products /services that are currently being developed and matured through multiple partnerships.
