Resound is a software company on a mission to automate podcast editing with AI. After manually editing thousands of podcasts, we’ve built an internal tool to automate the process. Now we’re perfecting that tool so we can share it with the world. Summary

As a fast-growing company, we are looking to add a full-time Senior Software Engineer to our team who understands our vision and who is eager to grow with our team. The ideal candidate must exhibit an ability to write quality code, take ownership of projects, be excited about being empowered, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Because it is our desire to build the best, spoken audio AI software, we are looking to add team members who are passionate about building innovative software that is efficient and scalable. 

Features

  • This is a full-time role with an anticipated workload of 40-50 hours weekly with a flexible asynchronous schedule.

  • This position will offer a base salary with an opportunity for benefits including Health Insurance, 401k match, access to an HSA, a home office budget, and unlimited PTO after a 90-day initial window.

  • This position offers the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. with the possibility of one in-person meeting/retreat a year; all travel costs would be covered. 

  • This role would be eligible for an early employee stock option pool.


Requirements

Must-Have: 

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

  • Analytical thinker, attention to detail, desire to grow and improve, flexible, confident, reliable, innovative, customer-oriented, clear communicator, and a desire to develop and empower others.

  • Experience writing production code in multiple backend languages: Python, Java, Go, Ruby, PHP, etc.

  • Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs

  • Familiarity with a frontend JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.

  • Comfortable working with client-server interactions, basic microservices, and containerized applications.

  • Have worked with a cloud service provider such as Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.

  • Led teams small or large and have experience mentoring other engineers.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience deploying to and/or maintaining Kubernetes clusters

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for containerized apps, data warehouses, and/or productionizing ML models.

  • Love for podcasts

  • Audio or production-related experience


Goals

  • Help build the first versions of the Resound platform, from backend routing to user-facing modals.

  • Able to work productively and jump right in and help contribute to our production codebase.

  • Ability to take ownership of projects and turn ideas into features.

  • Collaborate and learn with our team of software engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and product designers.


Responsibilities

  • Software Development -

    • Support and build the architecture, design, and implementation of highly available, innovative, secure, and scalable audio editing software and tools.

    • Test-driven development (TDD), high levels of code coverage, and automation

    • Taking a team approach to execute the software roadmap


  • Support and Maintenance - 

    • Provide support and ongoing maintenance of all existing products at Resound. Troubleshoot and resolve any bugs that are identified.

    • Logging and monitoring of platforms for proactive assurance of availability and performance. This includes new products, maintenance, and ongoing support for each of the following projects: 

      • Google Cloud Storage 

      • AI Editing Experience 

      • Deployment Pipelines

      • ML Model Deployments

      • Multitrack File Processing
