About the Role:

At Upgrade, the Platform team works horizontally with our different engineering teams. We build tools, services and shared libraries to simplify / abstract / speedup the day to day of our developers.

As part of the Platform group, the Identity and Access Management squad is responsible for our auth services, and everything related to authentication and authorization in our microservice architecture.

We are looking for a passionate engineer to help us drive the IAM roadmap at Upgrade. Join us!

What You’ll Do: 

  • Implement new features in our authentication and authorization services
  • Help build and drive the roadmap for the IAM team
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on authentication and authorization

 

What We Look For:

  • Strong Java programming experience (Golang a plus)
  • Previous hands-on experience working on authentication and authorization services
  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering highly scalable and performant backend application systems
  • Understanding of Spring Security, OAuth, JWT
  • Good communication and empathy skills, as you will interact with different stakeholders at Upgrade to help define our vision and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Awareness of the challenges and possible patterns brought up by Kubernetes
