We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer that is seeking their next challenge to take on key responsibilities surrounding the core Infrastructure that allows our business to operate successfully and grow into a technical team lead.

We’re re-platforming our stack, and redefining how our website works to get closer to the customer and ensure the best possible customer experience using exciting new modern frameworks and content delivery mechanisms. This is an exciting opportunity to join the in-house team of engineers to help push forward our growth.

Desired Traits:

+ At least 2 years of experience working as a senior in a technical role
+ The individual must have experience mentoring more junior members of the team

+ A track record and pride of delivering key project work based on business requirements
+ Experience working in an Agile development environment

+ The ability to call on previous experience to make informed decisions for our future

+ Use initiative and proactively own the implementation of solutions

+ Excellent problem solving and debugging 

+ A good communicator with the ability to verbalise conceptual thoughts

+ Able to commute into Archway, North London (N19)

Core Skills:

  • Experience and patience to work with legacy systems - the old world is important too
  • Worked extensively with a CI/CD (eg Gitlab, CircleCI, Buildkite, Relay)
  • Strong experience with a major cloud provider (eg. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Understanding and experience with Infrastructure as Code (eg Terraform, Cloudformation)
  • Maintained a customer facing infrastructure across multiple environments 
  • A clear picture of how source control management software works (git)
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms (eg Datadog, Grafana)
  • Comfortable in a terminal (eg bash, zsh)
  • A desire to write documentation and share knowledge

Nice to Haves:

  • Programming experience with a modern language such as NodeJS, Typescript, Python, Golang
  • Appreciation of ´Serverless technologies (eg AWS Lambda, Vercel, Cloudflare Workers)
  • Experience working with Kubernetes, ideally in production
  • A background with an E-Commerce business

Interview Process:

There are three stages to the interview process:

  • First: A call to look at your experience and meet members of the wider team
  • Second: A technical interview and a chance to showcase your previous expertise
  • Third: A third in-person interview to meet key stakeholders that you would be working with on a day-to-day basis and see our office space with a CV Blind aspect
