Presales Engineer – Wise Platform

We’re looking for a technical presales expert to join the growing Wise Platform team. Wise is one the fastest growing companies in the world and we’re on a mission: to make money without borders the new normal. We’ve got 12 million customers across the globe and we’re growing. Fast.

Current banking systems don't let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply. 

So, we’re building a new one.

Our team works with businesses and financial institutions at a global level to integrate Wise international transfer capabilities into their systems, either as a branded customer facing or as a backend whitelabel offering. We are looking for a presales engineer to join us to help with the art of the possible, supporting the business development team in solutioning and realising effective partnerships for Wise Platform. The team’s goals are to drive the growth of Wise through partnerships and integrations, ensuring we can successfully deliver projects from the technical side.

This role sits under the engineering team at Wise Platform and works closely with the Solutions engineering team, which will give you great opportunities to contribute and learn from those building and evolving our product. 

Your mission:

• Your role will be to provide technical consulting, support and product guidance to prospective partners of Wise platform, who make up some of the world’s biggest banks and businesses.
• Working in conjunction with the business development team, you will be involved in the sales process from lead generation and early discussions through to a partnership agreement.
• You will assist the partners to define their solution, finding a match between our technical capabilities and their requirements.
• You will work on sales collateral, demos, proof of concepts and any other material to help get potential deals over the line.
• You will Ensure the viability of solutions by testing and documenting an end to end solution.
• You will share feedback from your experiences to the product teams in Wise Platform to drive roadmaps in order to create more opportunities for the team.
  
  

Some of your focus areas will be:

• Laying out a clear picture of our technical product as well as future roadmap for our partners.
• Capturing any product gaps and helping define a solution in collaboration with the product teams. Define timelines and manage expectations with our partners.
• Creating a suite of resources to explain and sell Wise’s technical proposition.
  
  

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Advocate and engage technical communities to attract attention to the Wise platform, bringing valuable feedback to the product teams on how to improve the integration experience.
• Travel to work with our teams in Europe as well as meet with prospects around the world.
  
  

A bit about you:

• You have worked in a technical presales role before for a company offering an API based product.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Cloud platforms, and understanding of different technology stacks.
• You don’t need to be a software developer, but you need to have good technical skills and be comfortable with talking to engineers and other technical stakeholders.
• Being comfortable reading technical documentation and using it to test and define solutions.
• You understand the value of balancing customer centric thinking and technical skills and can bridge the gap between business and technical experts.
• You put the customer above technology, while finding ways to leverage technology to solve customer problems..
• You are personable and you are good at stakeholder management. You are able to represent Wise and our values to external partners in a professional way, explaining technical problems and solutions to non-technical audiences.
• You have strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  
  

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

• Experience coding simple POCs, whether to call a few APIs or even building a small web app.
• Understanding the challenges of legacy and modern system architectures, from monoliths to microservices and beyond.
• Passion for international finance, foreign exchange and payment systems.
• Demonstrated experience speaking at conferences and public events.
