We are keen on hiring a Data Scientist (m/f/d) for designing and implementing the models that define how we effectively match riders with drivers in our ecosystem while delivering the best possible user experience to both our customer groups. Being part of the Fulfilment’s Data Science team, you will work closely with our Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers and other Data Scientists while collaborating with business stakeholders and market specialists on a daily basis.

What would your work look like?

• Identifying, understanding, structuring and solving complex problems in the fast-moving world of urban mobility, specifically focusing on the fulfilment side of the marketplace.
• Designing and developing high-performance, data-driven systems in a distributed infrastructure to help move drivers and passengers through cities more efficiently
• Communicating effectively with business end-users to identify pain points, use cases and problem definitions
• Presenting your work to both internal and external stakeholders as well as at meetups and conferences
• Working with large, interesting data sets including historical, real-time and third party data streams

What are we looking for?

You are a problem solver, detail-oriented and self-motivated. You let data inform your thinking rather than relying on gut feeling. You thrive working with ambiguity and believe in lean experimentation. You are an effective communicator, a team player and avid learner.

We’d really like if:

• You have at least 2 years experience in working with complex data models
• You possess a sound understanding of statistical analysis and data-driven modelling
• You hold experience in designing and building machine learning and predictive algorithms, and a strong understanding of feature engineering and model evaluation
• While we typically look for candidates with advanced University degree in Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines, we're happy for you to prove us wrong and show that these degrees aren't necessary 
• You are proficient in Python 
• You are experienced with SQL and Shell scripting. 
• Writing clean code and making your work reproducible is important for you.
• You can communicate in English. We are a very diverse team with people from all over the world and English is our language of communication, besides Python.
• You are passionate about harnessing data science and have the will to play an essential role in the future of urban transportation.

There are certain skills that we love in our candidates but they aren’t really deal-breakers for us. 

• Working knowledge of Spark is desired.
• Prior experience working with notebooks and DataBricks stack is a big plus.
• Enthusiasm for geo-spatial data is a big plus!
• Proficiency in Scala and other programming languages are a plus
