About The Team

At Life360, Test Engineering is a centralized group concentrated on making it as easy as possible for teams to build quality into their features.  We do this by working with teams from design to production focusing on preventing bugs from making it into the repository.  We emphasize building automation to find blocking bugs, which frees up teams to pursue the most difficult to find bugs.

About the Job

As a QA Engineer at Life360, you'll be solving big quality challenges, coaching Software Engineers and Product Managers in the art of quality testing and helping to create a long-term vision of quality features for our Life360 members. You are a passionate Test Engineer who wants to have a high impact; looking for hands-on software and hardware testing with a technical vision of the future for Life360 Mobile testing. This isn't just about Testing, we want you to help us create a better product and proactively improve our quality efforts on the whole.

This position is located in San Mateo [Bay Area], CA. It is not a remote role.

What You’ll Do

• Execute test plans/ cases for features, done user facing feature testing, regression testing
• Take the car for Drive on predefined routes
• Pull the drive data, flush it into system and analyze it
• Pull logs and use debugging tools like ADB log-cat or similar technologies
• Diagnose bug reports for location, driving, bluetooth and battery
• Look for signals from multiple channels 
• Manually test the Mobile apps & hardware devices
• Define and ensure the quality bar for feature areas

What We’re Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of experience testing mobile applications
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of mobile device sensors and hardware
• Natural curiosity and ability to break software
• Great communication skills
• Willingness to go on drive with different set of devices
• The ability to dog food our location and drive detection features
• BS or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field

Bonus Points: 

• Experience testing location-based services
• Understanding of Bluetooth performance testing 
• Creative and innovative thinking
• Ability to pattern-match and connect seemingly unrelated dots
• A sense of humor and the ability not to take yourself too seriously
