GoFundMe is looking for a Director, Physical Security Operations to oversee and coordinate security efforts across the company, including information technology, people operations, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups. Identify security initiatives and standards. Oversee and manage a network of vendors and partners who secure the company's assets.

The Job…

  • Help build and manage comprehensive security programs that include physical workplace safety and company safety protocols and policies.
  • Assess all existing security measures and update and scale protocols as needed.
  • Oversee daily security operations, identify and mitigate potential risks and develop processes to improve the overall safety and security of physical assets.
  • Help manage and foster a culture of physical and digital security awareness.
  • Develop and implement internal communications and training for employees with regard to security and safety practices.
  • Provide guidance in the areas when applicable in areas like OSHA compliance, accident investigations, and emergency response planning. Participate in routine safety inspections and incident investigations. 
  • Present risk assessments and improved security policies and programs to management and cross functional team members.
  • Work with executive management to develop and implement an appropriate budget for  security programs.
  • Act as a liaison between local, state and federal law enforcement and the company, both on matters of company security and related to campaigns that require law enforcement dialogue and/or intervention.
  • Ensure that the company's security policies comply with federal laws and legislations.

You…

  • 10+ years of experience leading security functions in the technology industry or related environment 
  • Combined with a minimum of 7 years in law enforcement management or related leadership experience
  • BS/BA degree required. Industry certifications preferred
  • Proven track record of managing distributed workforce
  • Experience working at a hands-on level building operations processes and systems
  • Demonstrated conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Sound experience in troubleshooting and diagnostic methodology involving technical, cross-functional teams
  • Strong and proven security background and understanding of industry specific legislation and compliance standards, ideally in organizations handling sensitive data
  • Effective communication skills and is accustomed to working closely with a product, infrastructure, IT and business teams
  • An open mind and does not always default to industry norms when solving a problem
  • Strong leadership, technical and high emotional intelligence
