Supporting users and guiding them efficiently through the processes involved in buying or selling real estate is a very important aspect. Therefore we, the Closing Squad, focus on the processes after buyers have been qualified as good and fitting the property. This includes booking the on-site viewing (OSV), the OSV itself, the feedback and offer-making process, the selection of a suitable buyer, and the “Digital Deal Closing” (DDC: the final steps to conclude a selling or buying).

• Write clean and efficient code and follow best practices (TDD, CI, PRs, Code Reviews & Standards) in an agile environment
• Continually introduce and integrate relevant new technologies.
• Working closely with other developers and product designers to develop and test new ideas.
• Your self organized attitude will help you to prioritize your tasks independently

Closing - Squad - Context:

As a Backend Engineer, you will be focussing on Homeday Connect, a customer relationship management (CRM) application that enables partner realtors from our brokerage business model as our one single source of truth of all documents and to keep everyone up to date about the status of deals. It is also used by our own back office team to manage deals, property-related data, buyer requests, and contacts in general. You will help the squad take meaningful actions based on the insights and analytical products to implement new, innovative features as well as maintain given ones.

What we are looking for

• You have a profound experience in Ruby and object-oriented development
• You have a good knowledge of the Rails framework and Ruby ecosystem
• You work well with relational databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL)
• You worked with third-party APIs and developed APIs yourself
• You have a strong testing background (RSpec, Minitest, etc.)
• You write meaningful and traceable Git commits
• You are familiar with agile development methods like SCRUM or KANBAN
• You are a great communicator, enjoy working in a team and paying attention to details
