Developer for Ruby on Rails at The Grants Hub

The Grants Hub is looking for two separate roles, which may or may not be completed by the same consultant. 

1. Developer - Backend Maintenance

The Developer is responsible for the maintenance of the website and app. Experience using Ruby, Rails, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and AWS is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintenance and modifications of The Grants Hub platform

• Management and modifications of the AWS environment

• Ensuring code meets high standards of quality including efficiency, maintainability and
reliability

• Analysis of data and new tech developments to provide recommendations on new
developments and/or products

• Continual improvement and learning in technical skills in the areas needed to perform work
tasks effectively

• Keeping the team informed of progress, escalating issues appropriately when roadblocks
are reached.

• Providing recommendations on the improvement of back end operational efficiencies.


2. Developer - Product Development

The Developer is responsible for the development of new features/products. Experience using Ruby, Rails, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and AWS is essential.

• Ensuring code meets high standards of quality including efficiency, maintainability and
reliability

• Building multi component systems from scratch

• Working alongside the Designer and Project Manager to roll out website updates and new features

• Analysis of data and new tech developments to provide recommendations on new
developments and/or products

• Testing of new builds during and after construction

• Continual improvement and learning in technical skills in the areas needed to perform work
tasks effectively

• Keeping the team informed of progress, escalating issues appropriately when roadblocks
are reached

• Acquiring knowledge in relevant areas of The Grants Hub business and customer profile to
ensure our overarching goal is reached: To provide easy access to grants.
