Staff Writer Nice News at Pardon Ventures
Staff Writer, Nice News
Pardon is looking for a multi-talented staff writer with a passion for spreading positivity to assist in the editorial efforts of our flagship news brand, Nice News.
About Nice News
Nice News is an email series and website that curates positive news. We send uplifting stories in a 5-minute daily email digest to over 830,000 subscribers each morning. Nice News features content often missed by major headlines, centered on changemakers who are shifting society for the better. It’s our hope that in spreading these stories, readers feel more empowered, connected, and optimistic, and come to realize that there’s more good news in the world than bad.
About the Role
As the Staff Writer, you will assist in the curation and production of good news content for Nice News, working closely with the Managing Editor, Associate Editor, and Assistant Editor on a range of editorial projects. These include writing daily news articles, website features, newsletter copy, sponsorship placements, and social media copy; conducting exclusive interviews; and curating and fact checking. This role is primarily editorial, but does involve some administrative tasks, including assisting in campaign sending, tracking content, uploading articles to Wordpress, and updating databases. Above all, you will be one of the defining voices of Nice News — producing timely and quality stories that highlight the good in the world.
The Staff Writer will work directly with our small team to continue growing the brand. This is a rare opportunity to play a keystone role in a startup that has a direct path to reach millions of subscribers on a daily basis.
