Data Engineer Transformation Processes at Launchpad Technologies

Overview

As part of our data migration project, we are seeking a talented Data Engineer to focus on the transformation layer of our data pipeline.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Data Engineer with exceptional SQL skills and experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) to handle the transformation processes within our data pipeline. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring data is accurately and efficiently transformed for visualization and analysis. Please note that this is a 6 to 8 months project, and it requires availability from Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 3.30 pm PST.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data transformation processes using SQL and DBT.
• Collaborate with the extract and load team to ensure data is properly ingested and prepared for transformation.
• Design and implement data models and transformations that support business requirements and enable data visualization.
• Optimize SQL queries and dbt models for performance and scalability.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the transformation process.
• Document data transformation processes and maintain comprehensive documentation for data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data transformation.
• Strong SQL skills, with a proven track record of writing efficient and complex queries.
• At least 2 years of experience with DBT (Data Build Tool).
• Familiarity with ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes and principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
