We are seeking a Principal CloudOps Engineer to help us build our technology to meet our growing needs.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Design and implement the strategies for managing cloud infrastructure, storage, and software
  • Establish and implement the CI/CD strategies for the company along with cloud deployment, containerization strategy, reliability and performance, security and availability, monitoring and alerting, and disaster recovery
  • Work closely with the engineering, data engineering, and data science teams to establish a robust cloud development infrastructure while also ensuring a good developer experience
  • Execute and troubleshoot SaaS application deployment procedures
  • Develop and improve automation and procedures in the cloud environment
  • Contribute to IT and InfoSec activities

In addition, this role will be responsible for other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 10+ years professional experience in a Cloud Operations, SRE, or Engineering Operations role
  • Proven hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Cloud/Engineering Operations, monitoring, and observablilty
  • Experience in working on cloud technologies (GCP preferred)
  • Experience in hands on programming (scripting with bash, python, etc.) and terraform
  • Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, GKE
  • Strong understanding of Git, Github, and related tools
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and CloudOps principles
  • Strong communication skills with a high emphasis on the ability to explain technology in business terms and to express opinions clearly
  • Solutions oriented – ability to creatively solve problems on the fly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to make decisions and drive initiatives to completion
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and best practices
  • Capable of building highly available reproducible infrastructure (IaaC)
  • Experience in Server Administration
    • Physical hardware
    • Firewall configuration
    • High availability
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and the OSI model

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Total compensation includes salary and stock option grants. The salary range for this position is between $175,000 to $240,000, and individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. PHC offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, wellbeing offerings, 401K, unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and a work from home stipend. PHC covers 100% of medical premiums for employees and 50% of medical premiums for dependents.
