Why this is your dream job:

As the VP of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future. You'll be at the forefront of strategic decision-making, directly reporting to the CEO and acting as a crucial part of our Executive Leadership team. Your expertise will guide us through complex financial landscapes, ensuring AppSumo's continued growth and success.

• Lead strategic financial planning and analysis to support company objectives.
• Collaborate with senior executives to optimize financial performance and organizational growth.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, tax management and forecasting.
• Drive process improvements and oversee investment strategies.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls and systems.
• Manage and mentor a Finance & Business Intelligence team of 4, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Past experience:

This is a unique role that requires strong leadership, hyper attention to detail, emotional intelligence, strong communication, and proactive time management.

• 7+ years of experience in finance, with a significant portion in a leadership role 
• Proven expertise in startup and dynamic, fast-paced environments, including founder-led and private companies.
• Demonstrated success in financial analysis, strategic planning, and corporate finance within a dynamic, growing organization.
• Possesses keen discernment to effectively identify and manage genuine business risks vs negligible concerns. 
• Outstanding leadership capabilities, proven in building and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Strong communication skills, adept at simplifying complex financial strategies for non-finance audiences.
• A strategic, collaborative problem-solver, ensuring financial decisions align with the broader team's best interests, not just the bottom line.
• Has a track record of balancing consumer, partner and business interests.
• Has managed global revenue.

Bonus skills:

• Managing a Business Intelligence or Data Analytics Team
