JOB SUMMARY
Paragon is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting and facilitating development operations for our Paragon solution. Our team serves as the glue between the development teams, administering all our internal systems that support the development process. This is a unique opportunity to work on a complex and ever-evolving product in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with development teams on the containerization of Paragon.
- Facilitate builds and releases using pipelines and other various processes.
- Administer our Azure infrastructure including but not limited to VM’s, Azure Kubernetes, SQL Servers, Containers, ACR, etc.
- Develop and implement new enhancements, tools, and features in the DevOps space, such as new tooling, applications, scripts, or processes.
- Help resolve and review incoming defects and bugs to support our quality initiatives.
- Oversee and mentor junior DevOps engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience
- 2-4+ years’ experience in the DevOps field.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, processes, and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Containers, Azure Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes and related services, i.e. Prometheus and Grafana in Azure + Azure Application Gateway.
- Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools, ideally with Azure Pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills, with PowerShell preferred.
- Adept with Azure DevOps Pipelines for Builds, Deployments, and Release operations.
- Solid Azure administration skills, including supporting Azure offerings like Windows virtual machines, services, registries, and Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of version control systems like Git/TFVC.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; excellent attention to detail, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of mobile app development, specifically build, deployment, and releasing to app stores.
- Experience/understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Working experience in SQL Server Management, SQL queries, deployment, and basic troubleshooting.
- Acquaintance with Octopus Deploy or Jenkins.
- Azure DevOps/TFS administration.
- Understanding of packaging tools like InstallShield.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure, particularly in Azure, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Containers, and Docker.
WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL
- Remote U.S. or Canadian role. This associate must be willing to work EST time zone hours.
- No travel is required; however, there may be minimal travel opportunities to attend conferences or visit clients.
