Job Overview:

We are looking for a Data Scientist II,  who is passionate about applying statistical concepts and machine learning to customer behavior to shape business outcomes. Every day, thousands of organizations use Pagerduty to manage their digital operations. As a Data Scientist in the GTM organization, you will analyze and interpret these large datasets to uncover insight about customer health and business trends.You will join a small and scrappy team that partners with the field to apply these findings, ensuring that customers are set up for long-term success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, machine learning, and data visualization, along with the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Collection, Cleaning, and Exploration
    1. Acquire, preprocess, and clean large datasets from various sources (e.g. production, Salesforce, billing)
    2. Ensure data quality and integrity for accurate analysis.
    3. Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand the underlying patterns and trends in the data.
    4. Identify outliers, missing data, and potential challenges in the dataset.
  2. Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning and Model Deployment
    1. Apply statistical methods to analyze data and extract meaningful insights related to customer health and value
    2. Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive insight for the field
    3. Deploy models into production and monitor for drift
  3. Data Visualization:
    1. Create clear and compelling visualizations to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
    2. Use tools like Tableau for effective data presentation.
  4. Collaboration:
    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Sales, and Product deeply understand requirements and deliver maximum business impact.

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R
  • Excellent data manipulation and querying skills (e.g. SQL)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Snowflake, AWS)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Availability to work in hybrid system

Location: Santiago de Chile.
