For those living in the area surrounding Lehi, Utah, this role will require you to work at least 3 days a week (Tue, Wed, Thur) in our Lehi, UT office. 

About the role

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development of pages and features for Podium.com to build a high-quality and responsive experience that leads to a high conversion and performant website for prospective and current Podium customers. In this role, you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment and partnering closely with the Brand Creative Director, the Director of Website Strategy and the Website Engineering team.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and development of lead acquisition tools, launch new product and vertical pages that express our brand creatively and implement new brand identity throughout our web assets features for Podium.com across mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Research and discover new opportunities for improving the user experience of our website, tools, and funnels ultimately leading to more marketing qualified leads, and higher converting experiences.
  • Continuously improve our website performance, technical tools and process for building and maintaining our website.
  • Develop, maintain, evolve, and design within style standards (spanning desktop and mobile), with an eye towards efficiency and a consistent user experience.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Design, and Engineering partners representing design at Podium, providing and seeking feedback, and participating in feature prioritization and planning.
  • Articulate and represent Podium’s brand through interactive design and development through best practices and standards while challenging existing design norms.

About you

  • You have experience designing and implementing user interfaces and experiences.
  • You have experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, etc)
  • You have experience building responsive user interfaces
  • You have a portfolio showcasing strong design foundations, such as typography, interaction design, or visual design.
  • You have experience working in a technical, UX, or design organization working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders
  • You're an excellent facilitator and are comfortable leading teams through ideation, research, and the natural ambiguity that occurs when defining new features.
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills. You clearly explain design decisions and rationale grounded in design and usability principles, even to team members who don't share your background.
  • You have a solid design process, but also know how to balance process against impact including understanding of technical constraints and effectively balance quality and speed.
