Machine Learning Intern Autonomy at Cruise - University

As a Machine Learning Intern with Autonomy, you drive the research projects that address the everyday challenges that happen on urban roads, ones that do not have standard solutions available.

What you’ll be doing: On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Conduct research to solve critical issues where a solution is uncertain and highly ambiguous
  • Propose and implement alternative solutions and challenge the status quo
  • Implement research ideas, conduct experiments and summarize results and findings
  • Publish findings and new methods to top-tier conferences and journals

What you must have:

  • Enrollment in a university program in an AV-related field (e.g. computer vision, machine learning, robotics, control) 
  • Strong expertise in machine learning / computer vision / graphics / robotics
  • Track record of driving ML research projects from start to completion, including conception, problem definition, experimentation, iteration, and publication
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bonus points!

  • Enrollment in a PhD program in an AV-related field (e.g. computer vision, machine learning, robotics, control) with multiple research publications in top conferences or journals
  • Experience using deep-learning frameworks, e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc
  • Experience in deploying perception algorithms and models into real-world environments
  • Experience in the autonomous driving industry

The hourly rate range for this position is $48.75 - 68.00/hour. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. These ranges are subject to change.
