Software Engineer Cloud Infrastructure at Job Board

This position will perform functions essential to the health and growth of our product partners through monitoring automation, reducing toil, and building resilience into our infrastructure and API’s. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate and committed to designing, building, and maintaining high-performance Linux and cloud-based systems and communications infrastructure. 

The core pillars of cloud operations are:

  • Maintain and build external and internal cloud services achieving agreed-upon SLI, SLO, and SLA
  • Assist in root administration of complex cloud environments (primarily AWS)
  • Evangelize and implement best practices like  Automation, Continuous Integration, and Deployment (CI/CD), Monitoring and Testing
  • Encourage automated secret management
  • Build and maintain systems that are fault-tolerant and resilient.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of cloud services.
  • Have knowledge and assist leadership in, account, and network administration best practices across all environments
  • Provide advice and assistance on cloud architecture and APIs
  • Implement automation, disaster recovery, and system resilience best practices.
  • Implement improvements in architecture and design, facilitate and perform various tests and reviews of our code, products, services, and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience in Go or a similarly statically typed language. 
  • 3+ years in operations engineering.
  • Experience in application and database engineering for scale.
  • Experience in application support practices and procedures for critical platforms.
  • Experience in application monitoring and profiling.
  • Practical Experience with Infrastructure as code such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with AWS, particularly Lambda, APIGW, S3, VPC, Route 53, IAM, and CloudFront; familiarity with AWS SDKs and the AWS-CLI.
  • Understanding of networking and NetSec best practices.
  • Effective communication skills, team spirit, problem-solving, positive attitude.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in scripting languages like Python and JavaScript. 
  • Working knowledge of GCP and AZURE.
  • Familiarity with containerized architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure.
