Kernel Manager at Agoric

Agoric is revolutionizing the blockchain space by building a secure, JavaScript-based smart contract SDK on top of the Cosmos blockchain. We are looking for an exceptional Kernel Engineering Manager to lead our team of talented engineers towards achieving groundbreaking innovations in the blockchain domain. This role is pivotal in shaping the kernel architecture that underpins our smart contract platform, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a dynamic team of kernel software engineers, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
2. Oversee the design, development, and optimization of kernel-level software that forms the backbone of our blockchain infrastructure.
3. Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with company objectives and product roadmap.
4. Partner with technical leaders to design & implement high-performance and secure features in our JavaScript-based kernel.
5. Mentor team members, facilitating professional growth and development, and nurturing a culture of excellence and accountability.
6. Make informed, critical decisions under pressure, managing personnel challenges with empathy and integrity.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in leading software engineering teams, with a strong background in kernel or system-level software development.
2. Deep understanding of operating systems concepts, including memory management, system calls, and process synchronization.
3. Familiarity with blockchain technology and consensus mechanisms, preferably with experience in the Cosmos ecosystem.
4. Proficient in JavaScript and golang.
5. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement practical solutions.
6. Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team through complex technical challenges.
7. A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest technological advancements in blockchain and software engineering.
