Since its inception, Game7 has taken advantage of a combination of internal and external resources to satisfy its legal needs.

After 2 years in the market we have decided to step-up our legal function and complement the partnerships we have with external law firms with the hiring of a Legal Counsel.

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel with extensive experience in cryptocurrency and gaming to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the legal frameworks governing both sectors, with a particular focus on jurisdictions favorable to crypto companies and expertise in intellectual property law related to gaming. This role will be instrumental in navigating our legal landscape, ensuring compliance, and securing our intellectual property rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of issues related to cryptocurrency, including regulatory compliance across different jurisdictions that are favorable to crypto companies.
  • Oversee the legal aspects of intellectual property in gaming, including registering IP, negotiating and drafting IP deals with holders, and advising on publishing, distribution, and joint ventures.
  • Develop and implement strategies for protecting the company’s intellectual property and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the crypto and gaming spaces.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments affecting the crypto and gaming industries, advising on potential impacts and strategies for compliance and growth.
  • Collaborate with external legal advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the company's operations adhere to national and international laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents and contracts, ensuring they meet the company's requirements and protect its interests.
  • Provide legal support for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and partnership deals.
  • Lead the legal analysis for new projects and initiatives, identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Educate and train the company's staff on legal risks and responsibilities related to cryptocurrency and gaming.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent, with admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, with a strong background in cryptocurrency regulations and intellectual property law within the gaming industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different jurisdictions that are crypto-friendly and an understanding of global IP laws as they relate to gaming.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting complex agreements in the areas of IP, publishing, distribution, and joint ventures.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the crypto and gaming sectors.
