Talent Acquisition Specialist

Job location: This is a remote position. You can work from home and be located anywhere in Canada.

About the team

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is the subject matter expert in the hiring process at Kinaxis. You will be responsible for collaborating with hiring managers and stakeholders within HR to successfully execute the end-to-end recruitment cycle for our Professional Services business unit, with the goal of attracting and hiring top talent from around the world, specifically in North America and EMEA.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist works directly with hiring managers to effectively source, assess, and select talent that fits the role, culture, and business requirements, and to provide coaching and guidance to hiring managers throughout the recruitment cycle. They will leverage data to contribute to strategic decisions about global hiring, including region, level, and offering, will contribute to and support the implementation of talent acquisition programs, guidelines, tools, and processes that ensure a world-class candidate experience and the selection of the very best talent.

What you will do

  • Be a trusted advisor to hiring managers, educating them on the recruitment process, interview techniques and selection criteria, and manage the flow and quality of candidates
  • Understand and proactively seek information about the Professional Services business unit; balance priorities of multiple hiring managers ensuring that a great candidate experience is the number one priority
  • Understand that finding talent isn’t a “one size fits all” approach; develop sourcing strategies that meet the unique aspects of assigned roles, and leverage various sourcing methods including job boards, social media, professional networks, and employee referrals, to identify potential candidates.
  • Actively search for passive candidates who may not be actively looking for new opportunities, and build and maintain a talent pipeline for future hiring needs
  • Review resumes and applications to shortlist qualified candidates. Complete initial screening call with candidates, providing insight and assessment to hiring manager and recommending next steps
  • Be a Kinaxis brand advocate through the execution of end-to-end talent acquisition activities and processes to attract top talent within assigned portfolio area.
  • Promote the company’s recruitment brand through active participation in job fairs, conferences, and other networking and marketing events. Ensure timely communication with candidates, hiring managers, and vendors on the recruiting process and pending needs.
  • Build positive relationships with candidates throughout the recruitment process. Keep candidates informed about the status of their application and provide constructive feedback where and when needed
  • Assist in salary negotiations and facilitate the offer process, and ensure a smooth transition for candidates from accepting the offer to joining the organization.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with HR Business Partners and hiring managers to have a detailed understanding of and align on strategic business requirements, and to deliver results in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Ensure that all talent acquisition activities and processes, including job postings and interviews, are executed in a way that fully support and enable the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and goals; customize the approach as talent is engaged across multiple timezones and cultures
  • Network through industry contacts, memberships in professional associations and groups, and through employees
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition, and continuously evaluate and enhance recruitment processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

What we are looking for

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources (or related field)
  • 4+ years of experience in progressively senior talent acquisition roles, in-house preferred
  • Experience working with a broad range of teams including Professional Services, in a high-tech or consulting global environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high sense of urgency and an inventive approach to work through ambiguity and complex issues  
  • Highly adaptable and able to pivot based on prioritization and needs of the business
  • Agile and resilient in managing multiple projects with multiple sources of information
  • A clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present information and demonstrate knowledge to stakeholders at varying levels within the business
  • High respect for confidentiality and sound professional judgment and initiative
  • Strong accountability and responsibility to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Experience performing end-to-end recruitment cycle in a high-growth environment
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with a passion for using data to drive decision making
  • Knowledge of recruiting database systems including applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Proven ability to balance a high number of open positions, managing roles globally across multiple teams and departments and locations.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to tie an organization’s business drivers to its hiring needs
  • Knowledge of employment and related legislation (Human Rights Code, and Employment Standards Act), contractual obligations, and sound human resource practices
  • Knowledge in immigration/work permit authorization
