JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a skilled 2D Artist & Animator to contribute to the development of our upcoming titles. As a key member of our artistic team, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning artwork and animations that bring our games and characters to life. Ideally, you will be highly proficient in 2D art techniques and animation principles, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for gaming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create high-quality 2D artwork and animations for characters, environments, and special effects
  • Collaborate closely with the executive producer, lead artist, game designers, and other team members to ensure artistic vision and gameplay goals are met
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback and playtesting to achieve the desired visual style and gameplay experience
  • Maintain consistency in art style and quality throughout the development process
  • Provide exceptional visual quality on projects to create a fun and engaging experience
  • Identification and assistance in the creation of documentation in projects
  • Create storyboards to visualize scenes and create a realistic environment for games and other visual effects
  • Follow art direction and client briefs, understand 2D asset and animation pipelines and processes.
  • Implement feedback from Lead/Senior Artists and/or clients

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ Years in video game production with multiple shipped titles in an artist role
  • Knowledge of additional art-related software or tools
  • Experience with creating assets for various screen resolutions and aspect ratios
  • Significant working knowledge of Unity - Essential 
  • A strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects
  • Excellent creativity and artistic skills and a strong technical understanding of current asset workflows, shaders, and engine capabilities
  • An eye for composition and an ability to match any style, texture, colour, and lighting.
  • A strong understanding of shape language and balance.
  • Good knowledge of shader/material, asset and animation development tools for Unity 
  • Adaptable and able to multitask and prioritise work based on changing schedules and feedback/critiques
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently to get the job done without day-to-day direction
  • Previous Game Design experience with preschool or early childhood education would be highly desirable
