Senior Mobile Developer Passage at 1Password

The Passage team is building a standalone authentication and user management platform, Passage by 1Password. Passage enables developers to level up UX and account security in their apps with a modern user management platform that offers everything needed for identity, authentication, and authorization while progressively guiding users into the passwordless future.

Passage is seeking an experienced senior mobile engineer to help build an internet-scale product. You will be contributing to critical and lasting technical decisions while working with the most modern technologies. You’ll focus on feature development and enhancements of the Passage product which will include new features to our admin console, native mobile SDKs, cross-platform SDKs (such as React Native and Flutter), drop-in components, and more.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

• 5+ years of experience building polished, consumer-grade mobile applications
• You love focusing on the developer experience and thrive when creating tools, libraries, and services that are truly delightful for other mobile developers to use
• Exceptional skills in at least one of the following, and exposure to at least one other (bonus points for more than one): native iOS development, native Android development, Flutter, or React Native
• You willingly dive into the nuances (and occasional quirks!) of building native and cross-platform mobile applications
• You consider yourself (or are willing to become) a T-shaped developer and will bring both a depth of expertise and a breadth of competency and knowledge throughout the mobile ecosystem
• You value autonomy and enjoy room to make decisions - we have a startup spirit and trust everyone's best judgment to keep a fast (and sustainable!) pace
• Working collaboratively with others is second nature to you and something you thoroughly enjoy

• Work closely with the team to design and build Passage’s mobile experience while contributing to the technical vision and roadmap for our mobile libraries (including iOS, Android, Flutter, and React Native)
• Constructively identify and solve novel problems with our team
• Improve engineering processes, and hold yourself and the team to a high standard of quality; consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members
• Create and maintain beautiful customer-facing example apps and documentation
• Become a subject matter expert on all of Passage's mobile code from our SDKs to embeddable elements and beyond

• Experience leveraging the latest mobile tooling to develop reliable and robust automated test suites ensuring high-confidence releases and high-quality code
• Experience building or contributing to SDKs
• An understanding of core web development concepts and some experience with modern front-end frameworks like Vue, React, Angular, etc
• Familiarity with authentication protocols (e.g. WebAuthn, OIDC, etc)

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $153,000 USD and $207,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $140,000 CAD and $190,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
