Our headquarters are in Los Angeles, California, but we are a truly global company with team-members across the U.S., Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia/Pacific. We have gone to a fully remote working platform so that we can attract the world’s best talent. 

All roles at The/Studio are 100% remote from anywhere in the world, as long as you have all your tools, and a fast, stable internet connection! 

The Role

We’re looking for a talented backend engineer to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate is someone with a lot of experience in PHP, Laravel, with full-stack experience. 

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
• Developing, scaling and maintaining some of our backend services including the API, reports and other infrastructure services that manage our product and logistics worldwide
• Working with multiple teams day to day to bring more value to users, covering customer-facing web applications and public APIs
• Designing, breaking down, and completing projects of a medium to large scope with high-level productivity
• Looking for technical problems of existing system/product without guidance and offering solutions

• Proficient in PHP, Laravel, mySQL and other backend technologies
• Significant professional experience with distributed systems
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms
• Naturally inquisitive and intellectually curious
• Experience working with distributed remote teams
• Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity, and highly analytical
• Has a startup mentality and is willing to test new ideas
• Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

• Having full-stack experience
• Knowledge in Vue.js and/or Nuxt.js
• Knowledge about CMS, integration of CRM systems
• Experience with filament
• Experience building admin areas
